Scottish Sensory Centre
The Mission of the Scottish Sensory Centre is to foster educational, research and development activities relating to children and young people with a sensory impairment in Scotland. As a national and internationally respected centre we aim to:
•Support the Scottish Government by embracing the values and principles of Getting it Right for Every Child and by promoting a positive ethos that reflects the components of a Curriculum for Excellence.
•Proactively work with parents, teachers and other professionals to offer high quality and relevant professional development activities that will enhance their knowledge and understanding of issues relating to sensory impairment; this information will assist them to adopt resources and strategies which improve young peoples achievements, attainments and life chances.
•Participate in and promote the exchange and dissemination of specialist knowledge via the Scottish Sensory Centre information and advisory services and as a hub for other organisations by contributing to and taking forward specialist professional networking.
