Provision for visitors who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing
All our Visitor Experience Assistants are trained in disability awareness, and we have an ongoing program of D/deaf awareness and communication training. A number of our Visitor Experience Assistants are trained to Level 1 British Sign Language standard.

We have loop systems in place at key information points and in the Lecture Theatre and Planetarium. A mobile loop is also available for tours. There is fantastic BSL videos on each screen at the Planetarium and is very deaf friendly.

BSL : Family Fun Weekend: Totally Thames!

Join us on board Cutty Sark as we celebrate the River Thames

Saturday 4th September 2021 - 10am - 5pm
Sunday 5th September 2021 - 10am - 5pm

During this BSL accessible event, you can join Christopher Sacre underneath Cutty Sarks magnificent hull as he explores plastic in our rivers and oceans through arts and craft, engage with our character actors who will transport you back to the 1800s telling you what life was like on board, or immerse yourself in song and dance with Cutty Sarks resident sea shanty singers. All activities and performances will be BSL accessible.
